JOB TITLE: COOK
REPORTS TO: PROJECT MANAGER
DURATION: 2 YEARS CONTRACT (RENEWABLE)
SALARY: COMMENSURATE WITH QUALIFICATIONS/ NEGOTIABLE
Description: Paray School of Nursing is seeking highly skilled and organized cooks to work at the institution’s cafeteria. The officers will be responsible for preparing food items and menu items in accordance with institutional standards and guidelines for student Nurses. The officers will assist the Principal Nurse Educator (PNE) to advance the mission and vision of the institution in the areas of student
welfare affairs with particular in cooking and delivering well-prepared food.
DUTIES
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Cook food in various utensils or grillers
Check food while cooking to stir or turn
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
Maintain proper sanitary conditions to meet health codes, including cleaning of utensils, equipment and
facilities, assure proper storage of food
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Check quality of ingredients
Establish needed quantities, requisition of foodstuffs and maintain inventory
Monitor stock and place orders appropriately
QUALIFICATIONS
High school certificate or equivalent
Certificate from recognized culinary school
OR
Diploma from Culinary
Other requirements
At least 2 years’ experience as a cook
Excellent physical condition and stamina
Able to work flexible hours
Ability to work in a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with other people
