Background 

Karabo ea Bophelo (KB) is a five-year Activity to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Lesotho. The strategic objective supports Government of Lesotho (GOL) multi-sector strategies and priorities for HIV mitigation and prevention, with an emphasis on minimizing negative impacts of HIV on OVC and AGYW.

CRS mandate is to provide technical assistance (TA) and capacity building to Baylor and its implementing partners on case management (CM) approach to ensure quality implementation of case management processes for OVC households.

Objective

Seeking a consultant to lead the Learning Agenda for the Karabo Ea Bophelo project, focusing on documenting lessons learned to enhance program effectiveness and performance in the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) sector.

Scope of Work (SOW):

  • Plan, execute, and document a structured learning process to evaluate KB’s effectiveness, challenges, and successes.
  • Document lessons to enhance program performance and effectiveness in OVC programming.
  • Conduct quarterly reflection meetings to gather and document learning and practices for improved project planning and implementation.
  • Analyze monitoring data and quarterly reports, triangulating findings for comprehensive insights.
  • Compile a comprehensive Lessons Learned Report.
  • Additional related deliverables may be assigned.

Activities and Deliverables:

  1. Planning and preparation.
  2. Conducting data collection.
  3. Data analysis and completion of final report and publications.

Application Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • Hold an advanced degree in project management, public health, international development, or related social science (at a minimum of masters’ level but preferably at doctorate level).
  • Possess expertise in research design, project evaluation, and dissemination of findings.
  • Demonstrate recent experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning in PEPFAR-funded OVC programming.
  • Have 8-10 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation for integrated health, nutrition, HIV, and/or OVC programs.
  • Exhibit professionalism, ability to work independently under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess strong technical writing skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Be proficient in written and spoken English.
