Background to the Assignment
The International Medical Corps (IMC) LEARN Project seeks to engage a qualified Instructional Designer Consultant to support the LEARN IMC Instructional Designer over a six-month consultancy period.
The role will assist in instructional design, development, and deployment of e-learning modules and related training content aligned with project goals. The consultancy may be extended based on workload and project needs.
Purpose of the Assignment
To support the LEARN project team in delivering online module curriculum design work.
Scope of the Assignment
The Instructional Designer Consultant will:
- Collaborate closely with IMC LEARN’s Specialist Instructional Designer, project teams, and subject matter experts (internal and external)
- Assist in the design, development, and refinement of instructional materials, including course outlines, facilitator guides, storyboards, e-learning modules, multimedia content, and assessments
- Apply best practices in adult learning and e-learning instructional design methodologies to enhance learner engagement, visual clarity, instructional flow, and usability
- Support content adaptation for the LEARN LMS platform to ensure accessibility and quality compliance
- Participate in quality assurance testing and revision cycles of training modules
- Assist with training and technical user support for LMS end-users as needed
- Provide regular progress updates and deliverables according to agreed timelines
Deliverables
- Instructional design plans, draft and final storyboards, and content drafts in formats such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
- All content source files in usable formats (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, multimedia files, Microsoft Office files)
- Accessible e-learning modules developed in Articulate Storyline or Rise, aligned with industry standards
- Six (6) to eight (8) finalized Storyline or Rise e-learning modules (SCORM zip files) uploaded to the LEARN LMS platform
- Reports on content testing in the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Reports on revision outcomes via the Articulate 360 Review tool and other methods
- Uploading of content to the LMS and confirmation of functionality
- Documentation of instructional design processes and user guides, where applicable

All deliverables are due by the end of the consultancy period.
Specific deadlines will be agreed upon with the consultant upon onboarding.

Consultant Specifications
The consultant must be able to perform all tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with e-learning and learning management systems (LMS), including Moodle Workplace, Kaya, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other platforms
- Proven experience in instructional design, preferably in health or security-related training projects
- Strong skills in multimedia instructional development tools (Articulate Storyline, PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Illustrator, video editing software)
Experience
- Intermediate-level proficiency in multimedia and instructional development tools, including Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise, Replay)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Experience using tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and video editing software (e.g., Vyond)
- Ability to produce accessible e-learning content (e.g., proper use of alt text, no reliance on screenshots)
- Submission of prior e-learning development samples in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360 will be required
Competencies
- Ability to work with translation AI tools to support multilingual content development
- Proficiency in using Articulate 360 on a PC platform
- Strong technical and instructional design skills
