Job Purpose

  • To obtain new business for VAF from Business Banking and Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) clients. 
  • To ensure fulfillment of Business Banking and CIB new business and nurture relationships with clients, dealerships and internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Support Business Banking and CIB to achieve VAF sales targets
  • Ensure that assets financed by the bank are adequately protected by means of insurance cover
  • Cross-sell banks products and services
  • Prudent application of new business margins to maximize returns
  • Nurture relationships with dealerships to optimize sales opportunities as well as customers
  • Follow a structured customer calling programme
  • Conduct interviews with customers applying for finance and approved for finance in an effective and professional manner
  • Attend to customer enquiries relative to asset finance
  • Be constantly aware of opportunities for new business and to follow up business which might be lost to other bank e.g. request for references, request for settlements
  • Develop meaningful relationships with key sales staff within Corporate and Investment Banking and Business Banking to ensure that VAF services these markets efficiently.
  • Report on market trends development.
  • Analyse and interpret sanction conditions and requirements
  • Preparation of VAF contracts for credit disbursement  and fulfilment
  • Prepare basic data form
  • Obtain all supporting documents i.e. identification documents, Trader’s License, Tax Clearance and sanction document
  • Ensure all VAF standard, precedent and special conditions are met as sanctioned before disbursement i.e. Deposit paid, Assets registered in Lesotho and bank noted as tittle holder, Assets are adequately insured, and bank’s interest noted as first loss payee, VAT 11 as proof of correct VAT paid on assets.

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • Degree in relevant Business or Financial Management studies  or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years banking experience 
  • Business Banking experience will be an added advantage.
  • Driver’s license
