The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho has received financing from the African Development Bank towards implementation of the Economic Diversification Support Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for consultancy services to develop Entrepreneurship Curriculum in Lesotho.

The overall objective of the assignment is to engage a Curriculum Development Expert to review the report on identified gaps in the existing integrated curriculum for grade 8 learners as well as a bench marking report on jurisdictions similar to Lesotho based on international best practice. The consultant is also expected to develop guidelines for review and development of curriculum, and further assist NCDC with developing integrated curriculum and training materials for Grade 9 which responds to the needs of the country.

Moreover,the consultant will develop teaching/training and learning materials to be used by teachers and students respectively; develop a comprehensive trainer’s manual to be used to build capacity of teachers;and make recommendations on how best the curricula can be delivered. In addition,the consultant will conduct training of teachers on the implementation of the new curriculum. The consultant will further be expected to conduct consultative workshops to enable stakeholders and development partners to make inputs on the proposed curriculum.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry now invites eligible Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc) Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Procurement Policy and Methodology for Bank Group Funded Operations, dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
