Job Summary
The Construction Foreman will supervise and coordinate earthworks and road resealing operations across various project sites. The successful candidate will ensure all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily earthworks and road resealing activities.
- Manage and direct site personnel, subcontractors, and plant operators.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Monitor excavation, filling, grading, compaction, and other earthworks activities.
- Supervise road resealing operations, including surface preparation, application of bituminous materials, aggregate spreading, rolling, and finishing.
- Ensure quality control measures are implemented throughout construction activities.
- Monitor the efficient use of labour, materials, plant, and equipment.
- Enforce occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
- Maintain daily site diaries, progress reports, and records of completed work.
- Identify site challenges and implement practical solutions to minimise delays.
- Coordinate with Engineers, Surveyors, and the Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications
Education
- Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Road Construction, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience supervising earthworks and/or road resealing projects.
- Sound knowledge of earthworks, road construction techniques, compaction requirements, and bituminous surfacing operations.
Skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
