JOB TITLE: Computer Support Technician
DEPARTMENT: IT Infrastructure Projects & Services
REPORTS TO: IT Infrastructure Supervisor
PURPOSE OF THE ROLES
• To install and maintain computer hardware, software and printers for CBS clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• To respond to customer requests.
• To assemble computers and Server hardware
• To connect and setup hardware
• To load required desktop and server software
• To troubleshoot and resolve computer equipment faults
• To participate in the implementation of projects.
DUTIES:
1. Provide prompt and efficient support to customers.
2. Document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps.
3. Prioritizing workload to maximize productivity and minimize customer downtime
4. Provide orientation to clients on delivered solutions
CORE COMPETENCIES
1. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows platform
2. Good planning, technical and analytical skills
3. Work both independently and in a team with minimal supervision
4. Self-motivated, continuous learning orientation
5. Knowledge of Internet and email setup
6. Ability to handle multiple activities and function well under pressure
7. Knowledge of Antivirus Software
8. Effective Communications skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• The technician will have to do some lifting of computer and network equipment during equipment setup and network installation.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A+ or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years working experience in similar role
• Molex and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certifications will be added advantage
