As we continue to grow and meet the expectations of global buyers, we are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Compliance Manager to ensure our operations meet international compliance standards, particularly those expected by U.S. buyers.
Job Summary:
The Compliance Manager will oversee and implement compliance programs across all areas of our manufacturing operations. This includes but is not limited to, ethical labour practices, environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and buyer-specific compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, U.S. import compliance laws, and industry best practices.
You will serve as the key liaison between Vishan Clothing Industries and external auditors, certification bodies, and clients’ compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure full compliance with U.S. buyer requirements, including legal, environmental, social, and ethical standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance programs aligned with local laws and international regulations (e.g. OSHA, FLSA, CTPAT, etc.).
Lead all compliance audits (internal, third-party, and client-initiated).
Monitor and ensure compliance with laws on child labour, forced labour, working hours, wages, freedom of association, and other labour standards.
Manage compliance documentation and certifications such as WRAP, SEDEX, ISO, or similar standards.
Oversee factory environmental performance including waste management, water usage, chemical handling, and emissions.
Conduct regular internal training for staff and management on compliance-related topics.
Create corrective action plans (CAPs) and follow up on their implementation.
Stay updated on evolving laws and requirements in the U.S. and international markets that affect manufacturing and supply chain compliance.
Collaborate with HR, production, and quality departments to ensure cohesive compliance strategy across all levels.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in law, Industrial Relations, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or any related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in compliance roles within the garment/textile manufacturing industry.
Proven track record of handling buyer audits
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
