Who We Are
Seefar Foundation is a social enterprise with a simple mission: to transform the lives of vulnerable people. Through programmes rooted in technology, psychology and behaviour change, we help people build the skills and confidence they need to make a positive contribution to their communities. It’s how we support governments in finding solutions to challenges around irregular migration, poverty, human trafficking, violent extremism, access to justice, and more.
Our exceptional team of over 100 consultants are problem solvers and innovators, delivering programmes for Seefar Foundation and high impact research and advisory for our sister company Farsight Global. Together, our organisations solve difficult, high impact problems for governments and NGOs across communications, digital, and research, monitoring and evaluation in Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Your Responsibilities
- Support preparation for a donor expenditure verification audit.

- Coordinate with internal teams and project partners to collect, organise, and verify all required supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Ensure partner ledgers, transaction listings, and supporting documents are complete and ready for verification by agreed deadlines.
- Track audit samples provided by the auditors and ensure timely collation and submission of corresponding supporting documentation.
- Review procurement documentation to confirm compliance with organisational and donor procurement rules and thresholds.
- Liaise with external auditors to respond to queries, clarifications, and follow-up requests during and after the audit testing phase.
- Maintain clear documentation trails and version control for all audit-related files.
Requirements
- Background in finance, accounting, audit, compliance, or a related field, with prior experience supporting donor-funded projects or audits.

- Experience collecting, organising, and validating audit supporting documents (e.g. invoices, contracts, proof of payment, procurement and travel files).
- Strong ability to explain financial and compliance requirements clearly to non-finance staff and partner organisations.
- Proven ability to coordinate with multiple partners and follow up on outstanding financial information and documentation.
- Comfortable navigating multiple financial and document-management systems.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to liaise professionally with external auditors and support audit follow-up and clarification processes.
Who You Are
To succeed, you’ll need to have:
- Excellent understanding of English and French: you can follow video calls held in English and French and understand nuanced instructions. Your written English and French needs to be understandable (not perfect). Arabic proficiency would be a bonus.
- Attention to detail: you have the focus to find errors that others have given up on, in spreadsheets and word documents.
- Strong foundations in how spreadsheets function: comfortable working with the basic functions of Google Sheets.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial or technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-finance stakeholders, and to effectively navigate and work across multiple systems and platforms.
- Ability to work productively from home: Ability to work with remote tools like Google Suite.
- Level 2 on the Seefar Technology Levels: You are not afraid of technology. When presented with a new tool, you learn happily through experimentation. If you’re not there yet, you aspire to Level 3.
- Evidence that you demonstrate our values. In particular, you’ll need to embrace learning new ways of doing things and have the grit to see tasks through to completion.
