COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION AND UPGRADING OF TOLL INFRASTRUCTURE AT CALEDONSPOORT BORDER, MAPUTSOE BORDER AND MASERU BORDER
The Road Fund was established by the Lesotho Government through Legal Notice No. 179 of 1995 and regulated under the Finance (Road Fund) Regulations 2012. The main reason for establishing the Fund, like many other countries in the World, was to shift the
burden of financing maintenance of Lesotho’s road infrastructure from general taxes collected by the central fiscus to road user fees, and to close the persistent financing gaps that characterized road maintenance prior to the establishment of the Fund.
The Road Fund “Employer” now invites sealed bids (“Bids”) from eligible and qualified Bidders or persons (“Bidders”) to provide the works referenced above (the “Works”).
Bidders should be informed that the contract is divided into three (3) Lots and they are allowed to bid for any or all of the below Contracts but no Bidder will be awarded more than one contract.
The Scope of work for each Lot, includes, but not limited to the following items (Further details are included in the Bidding Documents).
More details on the requirements are provided in the Bill of Quantities Specifications and Performance Requirements, and Drawings.
These Bids are open to all eligible and qualified Bidders who wish to respond to the relevant bidding documents (the “Bidding Documents”). Qualification requirements are fully described in Section I of the Bidding Documents, include:
(a) A bidder having a company registered locally in terms of the Laws of the Kingdom of Lesotho;
(b) A bidder registered with the Building Design Services in category A or B for Maseru and Maputsoe Borders;
(c) A bidder registered with the Building Design Services in category C for Caledonspoort Border; and
(c) A bidder who has completed projects of similar nature in the past ten (10) years.
A Bidder for each Contract, will be selected under a Competitive Bidding (CB) method, using Single Envelope, Without Prequalification of Bidders, and application of domestic preferences shall be applicable
