VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Phelisanang Bophelong HIV/AIDS Network, herein referred to as “PB,” will be supporting the implementation of the Community Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and Diagnosis activities in four (4) districts — Leribe, Berea, Maseru, and Mafeteng — under the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning – Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Global Fund supported project.

The implementation is expected to commence from 01st November 2025 to 31st March 2027.

In order to successfully implement TB Screening and Diagnosis activities, PB announces the following vacant positions and invites interested, passionate, committed, and suitably qualified candidates to apply.

Community TB Clinical Nurses (4 Positions)

Coverage: One per district
Reporting to: Medical Doctor – TB Services

The Community TB Clinical Nurses will be responsible for providing clinical TB services at community level, ensuring early diagnosis, initiation, and follow-up actions on TB clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical assessments and screenings for TB among presumptive clients at community and outreach sites.
  • Collect sputum samples and ensure proper packaging, labelling, and transportation to laboratories.
  • Initiate TB treatment for confirmed clients according to national guidelines.
  • Conduct clinical assessments for clients with TB symptoms, side effects, or treatment complications.
  • Conduct follow-ups for clients on treatment to ensure adherence and completion.
  • Provide clinical management for opportunistic infections and common NCDs detected during TB screening.
  • Strengthen linkage and referral systems between community and health facilities.
  • Implement TB infection prevention and control measures at all service delivery points.
  • Work closely with Community TB Change Agents (CTBCAs) and Village Health Workers (VHWs) to strengthen TB case finding and contact tracing.
  • Collaborate with health facilities and DHMTs to ensure quality service delivery and reporting.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Excellent knowledge of National TB guidelines.

Diploma or Degree in Nursing, with valid registration with the Lesotho Nursing Council (LNC).

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in TB clinical care, preferably in community settings.

Training in TB management.
