Sub-Recipient under the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning – PMU (Global Fund GC7)

Phelisanang Bophelong HIV/AIDS Network (PB), working under the Global Fund Grant Cycle 7 (GC7) in collaboration with the National TB Program (NTP) and District Health Management Teams (DHMTs), invites applications from qualified candidates to support community-based TB activities in Maseru District.


POSITION: Community TB Change Agents

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Twelve (12)

The Community TB Change Agents will enhance TB case detection and strengthen community awareness through targeted outreach, health education, TB screening, sputum collection support, and linkage to care.

They will work within the catchment areas of the following health facilities:

Health Facility Catchment Areas (Maseru)

  • Scott Hospital – 1
  • Qoaling Filter Clinic – 1
  • Botsabelo Leprosy Hospital – 1
  • Likotsi Filter Clinic – 1
  • Domiciliary Health Centre – 1
  • Marakabei Health Centre – 1
  • Kena Health Centre – 1
  • St. Leonard and Semonkong Health Centre – 1
  • Likalaneng and Mohale Health Centre – 1
  • Thamae and Maseru SDA Health Centre – 1
  • Nazareth Health Centre – 1
  • Matukeng Health Centre – 1

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Community TB Clinical Nurse and in collaboration with Village Health Workers (VHWs), Change Agents will:

  • Conduct community sensitization and awareness sessions on TB.
  • Share key TB promotion messages during household visits & community gatherings.
  • Screen individuals for TB symptoms in homes and community settings.
  • Identify and refer presumptive TB cases to health facilities.
  • Support sputum sample collection and ensure timely delivery.
  • Document and report screening and referrals using standard tools.
  • Distribute HIV Self-Test kits and link eligible clients to care.
  • Support integration of TB/HIV services at community level.
  • Strengthen TB referral networks with VHWs and community structures.
  • Assist in TB contact tracing and follow-up.
  • Support distribution of IEC materials during outreach.
  • Perform any other duties relevant to the programme.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum COSC/LGCSE or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year experience in community TB programmes.
  • Certificate in community health, HIV/TB awareness.
  • Ability to mobilize communities and conduct TB screening.
  • Basic knowledge in infection prevention and control (IPC).
  • Ability to accurately record and report data.
  • Experience in community-based follow-up & health promotion.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within communities for outreach activities.
