Who are we? 

Shabaka is a diaspora-led organisation focused on the role of diaspora and migrants in humanitarian preparedness, response and recovery. Shabaka specialises in research, policy, and practice which contributes to knowledge on the role of diaspora and migrants in humanitarian action. We provide information and insights to local, national, and international stakeholders on how diaspora communities back local actors’ first response to a humanitarian crisis and their transition to recovery and longer term development.

Communications Manager

Who are we looking for?  

Your role will be to extend the reach and influence of Shabaka’s work and its impact on the humanitarian and migration sectors, as well as to promote the role of diaspora in humanitarian action. You will work closely with internal team and external partners, and as a small team, we are looking for dynamic, solution-focused candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. 

The Communications Manager will help enhance the impact of our research and programme work, ensuring that our communications activities are strategic yet engaging, creative, and coordinated. You will play a leading role in delivering a wide range of events and engage key audiences, including diaspora communities, institutional development humanitarian actors, government, and the private sector.
