Opportunity
ICW Global is seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Coordinator to strengthen its communications, digital advocacy, and visibility efforts over a six-month period.
The successful candidate will support international advocacy around:
- HIV
- Gender justice
- Reproductive justice
- Community leadership
- Human rights
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling, translating complex issues into engaging content, and connecting women living with HIV across regions and movements.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Global Programmes Director and Global Advocacy Officer, the Communications Coordinator will support ongoing communications activities and major advocacy initiatives.
Digital Communications
- Create engaging content for social media, websites, and other digital platforms
- Support communications planning and audience engagement
- Maintain and update website content
- Support live event communications
Campaign Support
Contribute to communications activities for:
- Global advocacy campaigns
- World AIDS Day
- International Women’s Day
- International AIDS Conference
- Other major international advocacy initiatives
The successful candidate will also support the 16 Days of Activism Campaign by:
- Planning campaign content
- Scheduling social media posts
- Coordinating partners
- Amplifying campaign messages
Graphic design support will be provided separately where necessary.
Event Support
- Support the planning and delivery of virtual events
- Coordinate speakers and participants
- Prepare Zoom meetings and webinars
- Manage registrations and event communications
- Provide basic technical support during online sessions
Communications and Content Development
- Develop communications across multiple platforms
- Support social media campaigns
- Create website content and blog posts
- Assist with newsletters and annual report materials
- Provide editing and proofreading support
- Develop basic Canva graphics where appropriate
- Edit short videos and social media reels
Desired Qualifications
ICW Global is seeking an organised, creative, and collaborative communicator who is passionate about social justice and community-led advocacy.
Essential Requirements
- Excellent written English skills
- Additional language skills are an advantage
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience coordinating Zoom meetings, webinars, or similar virtual events
- Canva, graphic design, or basic video-editing skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Commitment to:
- Gender equality
- Human rights
- Meaningful leadership of communities most affected by HIV
Desirable Requirements
- Lived experience as a woman living with HIV or as a member of a key population
- Experience working with community-led or grassroots organisations
- Familiarity with:
- HIV advocacy
- Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
- Feminist advocacy
- Human rights advocacy
- Experience updating websites such as WordPress
- Experience working across diverse cultures and time zones
