The UNDP Lesotho is seeking suitable candidates for the position of Communication and Partnership Associate to strengthen communication with its diverse partnerships and enhance visbility of its programme, projects and the results and impact being achieved in Lesotho. The UNDP Lesotho Country Programme Document 2019 – 2023 focuses on three programmatic pillars a) Inclusive Green, Resilient and Sustainable Economic Growth; b) Good Governance, Accountability and Improved Service Delivery; and c) Climate Action, Disaster Resilience, and Environmental Sustainability,

With inputs from the UNDP Country Office team in Lesotho, the Communications and Partnerships  Associate develops and implements communications and advocacy strategy and plan of the country office in line  within the Co and within the UN system as well as externally ProgrPwith the related corporate external engagement plans and guidelines.

The main objective is to influence the development agenda, promote public and media outreach and mobilize strategic and financial support for UNDP programme in Lesotho. The communications work in Lesotho will be informed by the Partnership and Communications Action Plan (PCAP), which is a document developed and attached to the main UNDP strategy in the country – the Country Programme Document (CPD).

Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of key functions:

  1. Support to the design and implementation of UNDP Lesotho communications and partnerships strategy
  2. Support to the management of events and campaigns
  3. Support for content creation and management of UNDP Lesotho’s social media accounts, website and other digital channels
  4. Media relations and advocacy
  5. Capacity building for communication.Support to the design and implementation of UNDP Lesotho’s communications and partnerships strategy
