Penreach is looking to recruit a dynamic Communication Officer to be based in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
They require someone who is proactive and enjoys the challenge of working in a fast paced, inclusive and diverse environment.

Duties, Key Areas of Responsibility:
Marketing material, Media and Branding:
Develop and maintain marketing material in consultation with the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager
Maintain a portfolio or records of high quality, organized media (including photos, video and other media)
Handle media inquiries
Draft and edit communications copy (e.g. press releases, publications, reports, social media posts)
Media liaison and monitoring (post event reports)
Manage content of all social media channels, plan and implement social media campaigns around themes in consultation with Fundraising and Partnerships Manager
Manage brand collateral
Manage brand application and use of Corporate Identity
Design Graphics
PR and Communication:
Implement an annual PR and Communication Plan in consultation with Fundraising and Partnerships Manager
Maintain the organisation website as a central source of information including regular updates to all content and innovative ideas to attract visitors
Use analytics to measure the impact of the website and other communication against stated targets
Facilitate effective internal communications and newsletters
Photography and Videography
Implement and manage an e-mail communication system to regularly disseminate relevant information in an appropriate format to targeted audiences
Develop targeted communication artefacts in consultation with programme managers
Continuously research and innovate around the best ways to communicate the impact of the programmes to a wide variety of stakeholders
Internal Penreach/Penryn Relationship:
Manage a close relationship with the Penryn school’s marketing team to identify opportunities for collaboration and synergy
Follow the Brand CI, monitor scheduling of common campaigns
Align all communications across platforms
Event coordination:
Assist with events coordination with programme managers and change agents especially in relation to communication, branding, driving PR and story collection
Events may also include Livestreaming, social media messaging, live tweeting at events and uploading photo albums on Facebook.
Essential Job Requirements and Qualifications:
A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations or Journalism from a recognised higher education institution
Minimum 2 years’ working experience in a communication environment
IT literate and exceptional knowledge skills in using all forms of social media
Good working knowledge and application of Microsoft office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team
Ability to write and communicate in at least one indigenous South African language
A valid driver’s license
