- Identify strengths and gaps in their safeguarding approach
- Develop an action plan that builds on existing good practice whilst addressing any areas of concern
- Provide mentoring, advice and training to implement the action plan and ensure a comprehensive approach to safeguarding across their operations
This work is part of our wider learning on how to contextualise the safeguarding support we provide. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to contribute to this wider learning strategy.
Applicants must:
- Be based in Africa and have considerable experience working in different provinces across South Africa
- Have significant experience in safeguarding and protection
- Have proven experience providing support, training and capacity building to NGOs in the Global South
- Experience in at least one of Comic Relief’s strategic themes (gender justice, mental health, early childhood development and secure housing) is desirable

Proposed methodology for assessing and supporting individual organisations

Budget: We expect support to be tailored to the needs of each individual organisation and so costs may vary. The budget should outline the cost of all key activities, including the daily rate for consultancy support. Consultants will invoice and be paid for work completed.
