Position: Collections and Recoveries Field Tracers
Contract Type
6‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract
(100% Commission‑Based)
Main Purpose
To contact delinquent loan customers and negotiate acceptable repayment plans through telephone communication, written correspondence, and direct field engagement.
Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or Economics
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in collections and recoveries within Financial Services or another disciplined environment
Knowledge
- Understanding of business drivers and strategic direction
- Knowledge of risk management principles

- Strong communication skills across all levels
- Ability to generate new ideas and fresh perspectives
- Planning and organising skills
- Ability to deliver results and meet both internal and external customer expectations
- Strong investigative, analytical, and fieldwork capabilities
- Background in disciplined environments will be a distinct advantage
Critical Deliverables / Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Extract and review 90+ days loan arrears daily from the system
- Arrange and execute collection schedules with customers in line with agreed targets
- Prepare daily work strategies to ensure effective planning and optimal results
- Contact customers via telephone and correspondence, recording all interactions for monitoring purposes, working closely with the Recoveries and Legal Departments where necessary
- Regularly update and remediate account information in the system
- Ensure prompt collection of payments from defaulted clients
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly collection reports aligned with collection strategies
- Maintain availability and accuracy of client records
- Refer accounts recommended for hand‑over to the Manager: Collections and Recoveries for further action with External Debt Collectors (EDCs)
- Ensure all activities align with credit control objectives and mapped operational processes
