Job Title: Clinical Supervisor

Reports To: Principal Nurse Educator
Grade: H

Scott College of Nursing invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Clinical Supervisor. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clinical teaching, supervision, and skills development of nursing students in both simulation and clinical settings.


Job Specification

The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring proper care, storage, and safe use of all equipment and materials in the simulation laboratory
  • Facilitating clinical teaching and skills development for students in simulation and clinical environments
  • Supervising students during clinical placements to ensure adherence to professional standards and College requirements
  • Supporting and guiding students to enhance clinical competence and confidence
  • Monitoring students’ clinical learning experiences and providing constructive feedback to improve performance
  • Participating in the development and review of clinical teaching tools and learning materials
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical requirements, procedures, and ethical standards
  • Conducting assessment and evaluation of students’ clinical performance

Educational Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery, plus one of the following:
    • BA Degree in Nursing Education, or
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education, or
    • BSc in Nursing with Nursing Education
  • At least two (2) years’ working experience in a clinical area
  • Experience in mentoring nursing students will be an added advantage

Other Requirements

  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet use)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Innovative, organized, and self‑motivated
  • Good report writing skills
  • Ability to supervise and guide students effectively
  • Team player with a positive contribution to the workplace
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • Must have no criminal record

Professional Requirements

  • Current registration with the Lesotho Nursing Council
    (Qualifications to be registered: Nursing, Midwifery, and Nursing Education)
  • Membership to a relevant professional body
