POST: CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a position of a Clinical Instructor at Maluti Adventist College (MAC) under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor. The Clinical Instructor is responsible for all clinical instruction of nursing and midwifery students in the skills laboratory as well as the clinical placement setting, counselling and maintenance of academic records. He/she is responsible for meeting all the academic goals of MAC and the Seventh – day Adventist (SDA) service standards. He/she will facilitate and manage the delivery of quality clinical instruction in compliance with local/national laws, standards and SDA regulations and policies.
Key Responsibility is to promote academic and professional growth of learners by:
- Participating in planning curriculum, clinical teaching schedule, and clinical procedure outlines.
- Collaborating with faculty to develop goals and objectives for clinical teaching and learning.
- Collaborating with other clinical supervisors from other nursing schools to coordinate clinical placements of students.
- Prepares the simulation activities and teaching aids.
- Demonstrates and teaches patient care in the clinical setting.
- Supervises and evaluates student progress and competence attainment.
- Maintains records of student clinical experience.
- Prepares and administers clinical examinations.
- Keeps track of student who have not completed stated competencies during the specified period of placement and institute remedial measures.

Must be a mature individual who is conversant with the Seventh Day Adventist philosophy and values. Strong clinical skills; professional and business-like in demeanor; honest and of high integrity; strong interpersonal skills; assertive; diplomatic interpersonal skills; ability to conceptualize and solve problems; results oriented “hands-on” personnel; energetic and enthusiastic; a good listener, open to new ideas and a “team player.”
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- BA degree with Nursing Education or BSC in Nursing Sciences (with Nursing Education) plus
- At least 3 years working experience in the clinical environment,
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with learners in the clinical seƫng,
- High level of proficiency in relevant computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point,
- Have strong verbal and written communication
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be registered with Lesotho Nursing Council,
- Must be a member of a professional association in Lesotho
- Must hold a current practice license as a nurse in Lesotho
ADDED ADVANTAGES
- Prior experience in Clinical teaching
- Masters in nursing qualification
SALARY
Salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications and SDA policies.
