ADVERTISEMENT FOR VACANCIES IN SCHOOLS
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions tenable at the Teaching Service for Government and Church-Owned Schools around Lesotho.
NOTE:
All positions are open for both qualified unemployed teachers and serving teachers who have acquired higher qualifications.

RESPONSIBLE TO: HEAD OF DEPARTMENT / DEPUTY PRINCIPAL / PRINCIPAL
JOB SUMMARY
To carry out classroom instruction to ensure that learners acquire quality education as determined by the Education Policy, curriculum and assessment standards in line with regional and international benchmarks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching
- Demonstrate effective and professional classroom instruction.
- Prepare detailed schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Assess learners regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate learner progress records.
- Use appropriate teaching methodologies and instructional materials.
- Support learners with diverse educational needs.
- Participate in internal and external assessment activities.
Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and a conducive learning environment.
- Promote positive learner behaviour consistent with school regulations.
- Ensure proper use and care of teaching and learning materials.
Extra-Curricular Activities
- Participate in sports, cultural and community activities.
- Supervise learners during school-related activities.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Primary Education (DPE) or equivalent qualification;
OR - Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent qualification.
- Must be registered with the Teaching Service Department.
- Must have no criminal record.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Applications, including certified copies of relevant qualifications, registration certificate, marriage certificate (where necessary), two reference letters and copy IDs, must reach the District Education Office – Human Resource Offices and copies to the School Board and Educational Secretary and Supervisor Government Schools by 16:30 on the 9th March, 2026.
