Key Performance Areas :
– To solve and analyze claims and coverage issues while guiding the claims processes for death and bodily injuries brought in terms of motor vehicle insurance order 1989
– Researching legal decisions and judgment on related insurance contracts and claims as required
– To represent the company in any mediation processes as required by the law to facilitate early resolution of these matters where legal actions has been made
– Making recommendations to clients as appropriate for alternative dispute resolution
– To negotiate with claimants or their legal representatives on issues necessary to bring such claims to finality
– To liaise with the company’s own legal representatives for the proper handling of these claims
– To ensure that proper legal processes are initiated for the defense of the company when it is sued
– To ensure upon receipts of such claims that they are recorded and acknowledged
– Should have knowledge of the law in particular that relating to the insurance, determination of liability and principles of compensation
– As part of stakeholder management, proactively liaises, Coordinates and attend meetings with clients and insurers, on claims settlement and related issues
– To assist in development and maintenance of quality control standards
Requirements:
– LLB
– Minimum 2 years post qualifications experience
– Appearance in court
– General insurance experience, including claims handling is desirable
– Basic understanding of claims
– Computer literate (Word, excel PowerPoint)
