Position: Claims and Administration Officer (Fixed Term)

Position Requirements

– Degree in Insurance, Risk Management or Business Administration.

– Certification of Proficiency (COP) in Insurance is preferred

– 2 years experience in insurance with knowledge of insurance services/product lifecycle

– Experience in sales, or insurance administration

– Basic understanding of insurance administration and claims processes

– Highly numerical with high degree of accuracy

– Proficient with data entry

– Excellent organizational skills, including file management

– Strong analytical and problem solving skills

– Ability to demonstrate sound judgment

– Ability to multi-task, balance priorities, and meet strict deadlines

– Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate and interact with both colleagues and clients

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

– Facilitating the processing of claims for both funeral and credit life insurance.

– Conducting first level assessment of claims for eligibility and reporting redflags before passing the claim to the underwriter,

– Advising sales staff and clients on claiming processes.

– Monitoring claims payments to ensure that they are accurate and made in a timely manner

– Monitoring policyholder claims history to identify trends that may indicate fraudulent activity by customers.

– Coordinating with Sales team to help clients select appropriate coverage for their needs

– Processing new applications for insurance policies and updating customer records

– Monitoring policyholder claims history to identify trends that may indicate fraudulent activity by customers

– Handling of all insurance queries escalated from branches and Direct Sales Agents

– Maintaining knowledge of current laws affecting insurance policies and practices in order to ensure compliance with all regulations
