Job Summary

As an ICM Civil Society Liaison for CRS/Lesotho, youwill be responsible for management of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in natural resource management (NRM) space, support theircapacitystrengthening in NRM/livelihoods for the implementation of Community Engagement for ICM in Lesotho project.

You will also provide technical oversight/supportto theplanning, implementation and monitoring of Small Grant projects under Community Engagement for ICM in Lesotho project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the GIZ and ICM Coordination Unit (ICU) to strengthen CSOs capacity for local ICM planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with GIZ and ICU and other stakeholders to develop innovative strategies, technical tools, and systems to strengthen community engagement and participation in ICM activities.
  • Work closely with ICUand other government ministries and their departments in strengthening collaboration of CBOs at all the levels.
  • Support the development of CSO work plans that are aligned to the project objectives and activities.
  • Participate in and support project monitoring, evaluation and learning activities.

Typical Background, Experience and Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Additional experience may substitute for some education
  • Minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience with an international NGO, with at least one year of field-based programming experience.
  • Familiarity with ICM systems and structures in Lesotho and related NGOs and CBOs
  • Experience in effectively engaging with NGOs/CSOs in building/strengthening their capacity
  • General knowledge of technical principles and concepts in NRM/livelihoods, capacity strengthening and program management
  • Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, knowledge-sharing networks.

  • Good relationship management skills with ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural teamsespecially with faith communities
  • Strategic, analytical, problem-solving and systems thinking capacity and skills
  • Good writing skills.
  • Strong data collection and research skills and ability to interpret and analyse data
  • Proactive, resourceful and results-oriented
  • Willingness and ability to travel to the operational areas on frequent basis as project demands.

Required/Desired Foreign Language: Strong spoken and written English skills

Travel Required:Willingness to travel 50% or more to field locations

External:        GIZ,Government Ministries, other implementing partners, community leaders, and peer organizations
