Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Civil Engineer to lead the design and delivery of diverse engineering projects across Lesotho and the region. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, proven project management capabilities, and a commitment to sustainable engineering practices. This role reports directly to the Technical Director and offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Design and Analysis
Lead the conceptualization and development of detailed civil and highway designs that meet client requirements and adhere to technical standards.
Design civil infrastructure such as roads, ensuring seamless integration into larger projects.
Technical Assessments and Feasibility Studies
Conduct site investigations and geotechnical data to guide the design process.
Evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of projects, recommending innovative and efficient solutions.
Quality Control and Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all designs and documentation Lesotho Design standards and comply with local and international regulations.
Implement quality assurance protocols to identify and address design or construction risks.
Project Management and Delivery
Develop and manage detailed project schedules. budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time and within-budget project delivery.
Monitor and report on project progress. identifying challenges and recommending corrective actions where necessary.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with clients to define project objectives and ensure alignment with expectations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. including architects, contractors, and quantity surveyors, to deliver cohesive and integrated solutions.
Construction Supervision and Site Support
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
Address and resolve technical challenges on- site, providing expert guidance to contractors.
Mentorship and Leadership
Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
Review and approve work produced by team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Sustainability and Innovation
Incorporate sustainable design principles into all projects, focusing on minimizing environmental impact and maximizing efficiency.
Stay updated on advancements in engineering technologies and practices to drive innovation within the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background: Minimum of a BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering
Professional Registration: Registered with ECSA or eligible for registration with ECSA.
Experience:
At least 10 years of post-qualification experience in civil and highway engineering design.
Proven expertise in designing infrastructure such as roads and highways across Lesotho and the region.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g.. AutoCAD, Civil Designer.).
