LSP CONSTRUCTION LESOTHO — CIVIL ENGINEER
LSP Construction Limited, a leading construction company in Lesotho, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Civil Engineer to oversee construction and rehabilitation of rural gravel roads. This position requires strong technical expertise, knowledge, and a proven track record in road construction and maintenance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage execution of road construction and maintenance in line with project specifications.
- Supervise site activities such as excavation and sub-base works.
- Investigate and propose alternative technical solutions where necessary.
- Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring strict compliance with design specifications.
- Prepare and submit works for client approval.
- Provide technical advice and problem-solving solutions for construction-related issues that arise on site during the project lifecycle.
- Implement robust quality control measures including regular works inspections and materials testing to ensure durability and integrity of gravel roads.
- Monitor project progress, manage resources, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution.
- Prepare work plans, project schedules, and cost estimates.
- Ensure all operations adhere to health, safety, social, and environmental guidelines.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering with over five (5) years post-qualification experience in similar road works.
- Experience with FIDIC contracts is required.
- Experience in planning, design review, and feasibility studies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with civil engineering software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and project management skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
