Towards a more accountable aid system: delivering our commitments

How can we move the aid system from accountability talk to action? Despite many pledges and widespread recognition of the importance of embedding accountability in our work, and significant achievements from individual organisations, progress is still limited.

The 2022 CHS Exchange brings a global community together, online, to generate new ideas on how the CHS can help drive a more accountable aid system, one that delivers on our commitments to people affected by crisis.

Join us to to consider the following questions:

  1. Are we making progress on our commitments to people affected? Get insights into the current state of accountability to affected people at the launch of Humanitarian Accountability Report 2022. Taking evidence from the application of the CHS, the findings give us a picture of how well – or not -we are delivering on our commitments alongside the broader accountability trends.
  2. What is the future of collective accountability? We’ll be exploring how we can work better together to build a collective approach to accountability, with learning from country level.
  3. What should be the future Commitments to people in crisis? Have your say on the future of the CHS. A critical session for the CHS revision process to make sure the commitments remain relevant and accessible to people affected by crises.
  4. What does an organisational approach to accountability look like? Be inspired by a case study of how one CHS Alliance member is taking a whole of whole organisation approach to accountability. Then test your knowledge and compete in the CHS Culture Challenge!
