ChildSafe is a nonprofit organisation based in Cape Town. ChildSafe works to reduce childhood injuries of all severity through research, education, environmental change and recommendations for legislation. To achieve this, the organisation works in co-operation with government, industry, non-governmental and community-based organisations, community groups and individuals. ChildSafe believes that every child has a right to grow and flourish in a safe environment without the risk of being hurt.
ChildSafe seeks to appoint a Finance Administration Assistant, to be based in Cape Town.
This is a full-time, office-based, one-year fixed-term contract
The purpose of the position is to help augment the organisations capacity to provide financial and operational support to the teams implementing our programmes.
Responsibilities:
- Support the organisations day to day financial activities ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently
- General administration
- Procurement support
- Payment requisitions and supplier reconciliations as well as the day to day administration of internal bank card and expense processes
Requirements:
- Matric and two years’ experience in a similar role
- Previous experience in roles that requires extensive and accurate administration
- High computer literacy and Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in accounting packages and online banking platforms advantageous
- Must be detail-oriented, organised and able to multi-task
- Ability to prioritise daily tasks and can work efficiently and independently
- Ability to plan, take initiative and maintain a professional manner while being flexible and helpful
