Job Description:
The Chief Pharmacist will be responsible for batch release, certification or confirmation of all batches being produced according to the principle of EU GACP and or cGMP, (EU) GMP and Licensed conditions under national law. Ensure timely preparation of the Product Quality Reviews, ensure that Management Reviews are prepared and forwarded to Corporate Quality Management in a timely manner.
The incumbent must also ensure that before certifying a batch prior to release, that at least the following requirements have been met:
- The batch and its manufacture comply with the provisions of the export market.
- Manufacturing and testing processes have been validated.
The Chief Pharmacist must ensure that deviations or planned changes in cultivation and/or Quality Control have been authorised by the persons responsible in accordance with a defined system. Ensure that all necessary checks and tests have been performed, including any additional sampling, inspection, tests, or checks initiated because of deviations or planned changes. The person will also ensure that all production and Quality Control documentation has been completed and endorsed by the staff authorised to do so.
The Chief Pharmacist will also ensure that all audits have been carried out as required by the quality assurance system. He/she must consider any other factors of which they are aware that are relevant to the quality of the batch.

Compensation:
This will be commensurate with the responsibility of the job. There will be a probation period for 3 months.
Job Requirements:
- University degree in Pharmaceuticals or similar.
- Experience in manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, especially herbal active pharmaceutical ingredients under GMP.
- Knowledge of the processes involved in manufacturing (GMP), and preferably, warehousing, supply chain, equipment and room qualification principles, validations/verifications.
- Must have organizational skills, dependability, and strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
