Chief of Staff, ClearAngelClearAngel is building YC for the 99% of founders. Those who traditionally don’t have access to advice, capital or network — we want to support that long tail.

Most founders don’t live in Silicon Valley or have the pristine pedigree to get in front of the “right” people. For far too long, startups have played on a scarcity model.

This is limiting the potential of founders. We fundamentally believe that great founders and companies are everywhere. Where there are problems, opportunities exist. We want to empower those founders.

We are building ClearAngel to democratize access to advice, network and capital.

We do this by scaling access to the rest of the world:

  • Access to advice (knowledge, resources)
  • Access to network (intros, people, community)
  • Access to capital

We’re looking for a Chief of Staff not to just help one person, but to empower the entire team. You’ll primarily spend your time working with the GM and team leads, however, your responsibilities range from key strategic initiatives to scheduling meetings — in short your job is to make sure the trains run on time.

Responsibilities:

  • In short: buck stops with you. No task is too small (booking a plane ticket) to take on random tasks that are urgent or important.
  • Take notes and todos for every meeting, standup and offsite. Organize agendas for each of our planning meetings.
  • Organize all information around ClearAngel: track every decision we make, every change we make to the roadmap.
  • Ensure (this will include nudging, chasing, doing it yourself) every task is done and that no balls are dropped.
  • Initiate and lead special projects & strategic initiatives across the team.
  • Connect the dots unearth new opportunities, relationships, and partnerships to add value to the broader org.
  • Manage to-dos, scheduling & contact management while working with relevant stakeholders to drive agreed upon outcomes.

  • Fantastic communicator with high emotional intelligence. Supportive to the core.
  • If you do your job well, things will run smoothly without anyone noticing you. You take high pride in your work but low-ego in being willing to be in the shadows.
  • Hungry to learn and willing to make mistakes
  • Be self sufficient when it comes to execution. Figure out how to solve problems and make things happen, not waiting for help or permission.
  • On this team, we maximize learning. You will fail if you’re not learning fast enough.
  • Comfort working in a high growth, constantly changing environment.
  • Heavy bias towards action. Ability to solve problems end-to-end on their own. You will implement ideas and experiments on your own with minimal support.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.

What we look for, experience wise:

  • Positive-sum & low-ego team player.
  • Organized & detail oriented smart generalist who can keep trains running on time & leaves no stone left unturned.
  • Strategic thinker who can lead and incubate projects.
  • Strong ability to zoom out for high level strategic thinking, then zoom back in to ruthlessly prioritize and execute.
  • Proactive, can handle ambiguity, and doesn’t need to be micromanaged.
  • You get the startup grind and can be left to work autonomously.
  • Could be a few years out of college or 15+ years of experience. As long as you have the right attitude.
