Temporary Positions for 2026 October–November LGCSE Final Examinations

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified local candidates for the following temporary positions tenable in the ten (10) districts at the Ministry of Education and Training (Lesotho Distance Teaching Centre) for the 2026 October–November LGCSE final examinations.

Important: Applicants must apply for a position in their own district and must clearly indicate the full address of their place of residence on the application form.

Chief Invigilator

Grade: F
Number of Positions: Nine (9)

Duty Stations: Maseru, Mafeteng, Mohale’s Hoek, Quthing, Qacha’s Nek, Leribe, Berea, Thaba-Tseka and Mokhotlong

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Centre Supervisor, the incumbent shall oversee LGCSE candidates’ end-of-the-year final examinations.

Main Duties

a) Performs the examinations’ invigilation-related duties throughout the 2026 final examinations period.

b) Train Invigilators and Assistant Invigilators who will work under his or her supervision.

c) Write reports on irregularities, malpractices and invigilation as a whole and make recommendations thereon.

d) Demonstrate a high level of discipline, management and professionalism in the execution of the duties.

e) Liaise with ECOL on a timely basis.

Job Specification

  • B.Ed plus one (1) year teaching experience and one (1) year as a Chief Invigilator; or
  • Diploma in Education (Secondary/Primary) plus two (2) years teaching experience and two (2) years as a Chief Invigilator; or
  • Certificate in Education plus three (3) years teaching experience and three (3) years working as a Chief Invigilator.
