Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director TTI, the incumbent is responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of curricula and policies of Technical and Vocational Training.
The incumbent is expected to play an active role in the development and dissemination of teaching and learning materials for both theory and practical subjects, as well as participate in the development of assessments and examinations, and supervision of subordinate staff.
Main Duties
- Contributes to the ongoing development of curricula and other policies of Technical and Vocational Training, and assists in the development of performance relating to the policies
- Assists in the development, production, and dissemination of teaching and learning materials and other resources
- Contributes to the preparation of budget estimates for the department and manages and administers specific budget allocation
- Provides professional advice on the establishment and expansion of all classifications of programmes/courses
- Prepares financial reports, inventory, academic reports, and other related activities
- Liaises with other departments and assists them in all matters of common interest
- Monitors the implementation of curricula and other training policies through inspection in relation to agreed indicators of performance
- Supervises immediate subordinates or staff members
Job Specification
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or any related qualification plus three (3) years’ experience in a technical field
OR
- Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or any related qualification plus five (5) years’ experience in a technical field
Knowledge and Skills
- Skills in developing teaching and learning materials, developing and delivering staff development programmes, and inspection of both theoretical and practical lessons, including assessments and examinations
- Ability to sustain a high standard of professionalism
- Ability to cooperate and relate with others
- Skills and abilities to apply techniques to technical subject matter
- Extensive knowledge and experience in teaching and guidance of subordinates
