Chief Economist & Director of Research – REF: DOR
To provide strategic, technical and administrative leadership for the Research Department of the CBL.
Key Performance Areas/Responsibilities:
• Oversee the effective and efficient running of the Bank’s economic research department.
• Serve as a back-office custodian in support of the Bank’s leadership in their policy advisory role
• Coordinate monetary policy activities as the Secretary of the Monetary Policy Committee.
• Lead the production of periodic economic reports and relevant thematic and advisory research
• Collaborate with other economic policy departments and organizations towards a coherent and unified national policy stance
• Cooperate with and participates in the Bank’s cross-functional activities as the member of Executive Management
• Represent the Bank in regional and continental activities
Qualifications:
• Required: A Master’s degree in economics
• Desirable: A Doctoral degree in economics
Experience and skills
• 10 years in economic research, policy and management
• Verifiable track record of intellectual leadership
• Record of published research
