Chief Buyer – Internal and External
Cullinan Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Cullinan, approximately 30km east from Pretoria.
Job Grade: C4 Reference Nr: CUL425
Job Purpose: Provide a procurement/purchasing and oversight function to ensure implementation and adherence to policies and
procedures according to Supply Chain objectives, Mining charter, BEE targets and client needs.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Actively manage and develop purchasing team
Continuously review suppliers by value and all supplier contracts to determine performance levels according to organisational
standards
Ensure price accuracy on the system
Monitor the performance of the buying process, including monitoring of price movement and addition/deletion of suppliers
according to organisational procedures
Negotiate trade terms and discount structures with suppliers
Responsible for the processing of orders
Responsible to administer and attend to all purchasing related queries
Responsible to ensure that the expediting process is followed
Responsible to ensure that the purchasing process complies with the Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation
Responsible to identify new or alternative sources of supply by continually monitoring the supply market for new products and/or
innovations
Take ownership of end-users purchasing queries and provide feedback regarding purchasing status
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12
Diploma Logistics Management OR Diploma : Supply Chain OR Diploma : Purchasing Management
Valid Drivers’ License
Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate)
A minimum of 5 years’ Buying experience, of which at least 2 years had to be in a supervisory capacity.
