Job Purpose
To ensure that products and customer orders are correctly checked, counted, packed, loaded and dispatched according to production and delivery requirements.
Duties
- Check finished products for correct quantity, packaging and quality.
- Verify orders against picking slips, invoices or dispatch documents.
- Check products before loading for customer deliveries.
- Ensure the correct products are loaded onto the correct vehicle.
- Check quantities and report shortages, damages or discrepancies.
- Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
- Inspect packaging for damage, leaks or contamination.
- Ensure loading and dispatch areas are clean and organised.
- Complete and maintain accurate checking and dispatch records.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, health and safety procedures.
- Report any product, stock or order discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Assist production and dispatch teams when required.
Requirements
- COSC/LGCSE (Matric) preferred.
- Previous experience in a production, warehouse, dispatch or food-processing environment advantageous.
- Good numeracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and complete basic documents.
- Reliable, punctual and physically fit.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of grain/food products and food-safety practices is advantageous.
