Chargehand Operators- Pulping & Rec Digesters X 2 ( HRL 13 )
Sappi Saiccor Mill requires Chargehand Operators to supervise, coordinate and produce pulp at the digesters in order to achieve set production targets in compliance with workplace policies and procedures.
This role reports into the : Shift Superintendent Production
The main responsibilities of this job are:
- Ensure team achieves its goals and maintains high levels of quality , safety and housekeeping
- Plan and coordinate the production rates by using available information and process inputs
- Respond to process instabilities and conduct troubleshooting to rectify deviations
- Observe and ensure required tonnage is loaded into the digesters and requirements achieved
- Monitor critical pulp quality parameters and keep specifications within required range
- Monitor process variables as well as raw materials and advise on changes to maintain pulp quality
- Communicate and liaise with other sections on production requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- Grade 12
- N4 in Pulp & Paper or related field
- At least 5 years related experience within a similar environment.
