Position Overview
Mdlokovana Motor Spares and Tyres is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Cashier to serve as the primary point of contact for customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing sales, handling payments, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast‑paced automotive environment.
This role ensures all transactions are handled accurately while balancing the cash register, resolving customer issues, and assisting with basic inventory or clerical duties.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Scan purchased items, calculate totals, and process payments using a cash register or Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system
• Greet customers, answer questions, provide product information, and assist with locating items
• Accept cash and other forms of payment, and provide accurate change and receipts
• Process returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policy
• Balance the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift and maintain accurate daily transaction records
• Assist with stocking shelves, organising merchandise, and maintaining cleanliness at the checkout area
• Stay informed about product codes, current promotions, and company policies
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Employer that are reasonable and consistent with the Cashier position
Minimum Requirements
• Diploma in Business Management, Certified Accounting Technician, or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and good time‑management abilities
