JOB OPPORTUNITY: CASHIER!
MADE IN LESOTHO COOPERATIVE (MILCO) is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who is a Citizen of Lesotho, to join our team in the role of a Cashier. This position demands energy, dedication, and a strong work ethic to meet and uphold the exceptional standards set by MILCO.
ABOUT MILCO: MILCO, created by, and incubated under, the National University of Lesotho (NUL) Innovation Hub, stands as the pioneering cooperative Chain Store exclusively dedicated to showcasing and selling products and services MADE IN LESOTHO. Our core mission revolves around supporting local producers by giving their products the prominence they deserve while ensuring a secure market for them. To succeed in this never-done-before project, MILCO is committed to spreading its stores across the country and beyond.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, your primary responsibilities will encompass, but will not be confined to:
• Efficiently conduct transactions with customers using cash registers.
• Accurately scan items and verify correct pricing.
• Facilitate payments, whether in cash or via credit.
• Issue receipts, refunds, and tickets, as necessary.
• Redeem stamps and coupons as part of the process.
• Introduce customers to new products and cross-sell offerings.
• Maintain precise transaction records on balance sheets, promptly addressing any discrepancies.
• Skillfully handle packaging, including bagging, boxing, and gift-wrapping.
• Manage merchandise returns and exchanges in accordance with established guidelines.
• Undertake any additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of Form E or a Certificate in Business Studies.
• Proficiency in both Sesotho and English languages.
• Be friendly with a willingness to provide assistance to customers, always accompanied by a welcoming smile.
SKILLS AND PROFICIENCIES:
• Previous experience as a Retail Cashier or in a comparable sales role.
• Fundamental knowledge of operating PCs.
• Familiarity with electronic equipment such as cash registers and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Excellent communication and time management capabilities.
• Devotion to customer satisfaction.
• Prior cashiering experience is considered an advantageous asset.
