How did you end up studying Education?

I applied for it specifically because I had its passion. It was my dream. I always saw myself as nothing but a teacher or a lecturer. I had six credits and 2 passes, I qualified for variety of courses at NUL but I couldn’t risk to do something I had no passion on. I wouldn’t like it and chances of passing it were low since it takes passion and carriage to pass so I followed my dream.

What influences one’s performance in your course of study?

It’s my passion. Since I’m doing what I love, I am pursuing my dream, I got that carriage and eagerness to work hard; I love what I am doing.

What have you learnt so far?

When you look at my course, you will realize that many people ignore it because they say its candidates do not get jobs after graduating, which is likely true but what they fail to realise is that almost all the careers lack job opportunities. One other thing they fail to realise is that studying Education is not only about being a government teacher. You can pursue your studies further. You can own your private school. You can become a lecturer. There are a lots of opportunities, just have courage.

To someone who’s about to apply for and Education or Teaching programme

If you want to apply for this course I would say, “go for it, but firstly have passion, this will help u to succeed in it.” You come to NUL and collect forms and then apply for B.ED in the faculty of Education.
