Cape Town TV – known as CTV – is a nonprofit, community-based television station aimed at the greater Cape Town metropolitan area. Founded by over 200 nonprofit organisations in 2006, CTV is committed to providing community access to the powerful medium of television as a tool to promote human rights, social justice and community cultural development. As a community broadcaster Cape Town TV encourages active community participation and, in order to achieve this, the channel offers workshops to specific target groups such as member organisations, local producers, staff and interns.
Cape Town TV seeks to appoint a Membership and Training Coordinator to be based in Cape Town.
This is a part-time, one-year contract with a four-month probationary period.
The purpose of the position is to take responsibility for membership recruitment and training coordination.
Responsibilities:
Training Coordination:
- Identify training needs of stakeholder groups
- Plan, market and coordinate workshops
- Liaise with training providers
- Selection and recruitment
- Maintain training records
Membership Coordination:
- Market membership benefits
- Run membership orientation workshops
- Recruitment
- Administration
HR Administration:
- Recruitment and maintenance of freelancers, volunteers, local and international interns
- Liaison with placement agencies and tertiary providers
- Templates and processes
- Coordinate work placements and job-shadowing
- Host “station visits”
Requirements:
- Must have a suitable qualification
- Minimum of five years of experience in a NGO in a relate field
