2. OPEN INTERN POSITIONS
CAMERA OPERATOR INTERN
Job Description
The Camera Operator Intern will assist the camera department in capturing high-quality television footage while learning professional camera operation, framing, composition and production techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with camera preparation and setup.
- Operate cameras under the direction of the Director/Director of Photography.
- Maintain appropriate framing and composition.
- Follow camera directions, shot lists and production requirements.
- Assist with camera movement and repositioning during shoots.
- Check basic camera settings and equipment readiness.
- Assist with lenses, batteries, media cards and camera accessories.
- Maintain and safely handle camera equipment.
- Assist with camera department pack-down and equipment checks.
- Work closely with the Director, DP and other camera crew.
Requirements
- Passion for cinematography and visual storytelling.
- Basic understanding of cameras and photographic principles.
- Understanding of framing, composition, exposure and focus is an advantage.
- Ability to operate or learn professional camera equipment.
- Good visual awareness and attention to detail.
- Physically able to work on location and handle production equipment.
- Previous camera or photography experience is an advantage.
- A portfolio/showreel is encouraged.
