Pioneer Mall is thrilled to announce an exciting art competition in celebration of His Majesty King Letsie III’s 60th birthday. This competition aims to honour and commemorate King Letsie IIl’s 25 years of exemplary leadership. We invite Basotho artists to participate and showcase their creativity by incorporating sustainable practices and eco-friendly materials into their artwork.
The primary objective of this event is to provide Basotho artists under the age of 35 an opportunity to express their admiration and respect for His Majesty King Letsie III through their artistic talents. Artists are encouraged to create unique and compelling artworks that capture the essence of King Letsie III’s leadership while minimizing waste and
promoting sustainability.
Competition Details:
• Eligibility: This competition is open to Basotho artists who are not over the age of 35 years old.
• Compensation: The selected 25 participants, who demonstrate exceptional talent, will receive M1,000.00 as compensation for their participation.
Grand Prize: The grand winner of the competition wil receive a prestigious grand prize.
The winning artwork will be presented to His Majesty King Letsie III as a special gift.
• Judging: The artworks will be evaluated by a panel of three judges from Limkokwing University based on the following criteria: creativity, technical skills, relevance to the theme, and overall impact.
• Artwork Submission: Artists will create their artworks in their own spaces and must submit them between 07th July to 12th July 2023 at 17:00 at the Pioneer Office.
• Artwork Specifications: The submitted artwork should be no smaller than A3 in size. Artists have the liberty to utilise any art materials and medium of their choice.
• Ownership and Display: Please note that the artwork produced will become the
property of Pioneer Mall. The selected artworks will be displayed in Pioneer Mall from 14th July to 30th July 2023.
