Audacious Leaders Network (ALN) is currently recruiting dynamic and committed individuals to serve as volunteer members of our Advisory Board. We are seeking individuals who share our mission and vision, and who bring valuable experience and insight to help strengthen our governance and guide our strategic direction.
We invite applicants with demonstrated experience and a commitment to serving youth, particularly in the areas outlined below. Board members will be expected to attend at least four virtual meetings, bring expertise to at least one board committee, attend committee meetings, make meaningful contributions related to their expertise and act in the best interest of the organization. Board Member Profiles and Desired Expertise
- Governance
- Experience in organizational governance or board service.
- Previous experience serving on advisory boards or as a board chair.
- Legal
- Legal expertise in nonprofit law and compliance
- Knowledge of legal frameworks for both nonprofit and for-profit ventures
- Leadership & Management
- Senior leadership experience (e.g., Executive Director, CEO, Senior Manager)
- Strategic decision-making and operational oversight skills
- International Development
- Experience working in the development sector, particularly in Southern Africa or across Africa
- Background in working with or for African-based development organizations
- Fundraising
- Expertise in grant writing, fundraising strategy, and donor engagement
- Knowledge of CSR, donor funding, private foundations, and resource mobilization
- Marketing & Communications
- Experience in marketing and branding within nonprofit or for-profit sectors
- Proficiency in traditional and digital marketing strategies
- Public & Media Relations
- Proven track record in managing media relations and public outreach
- Experience supporting advocacy or nonprofit campaigns
- Finance
- Background in financial management, budgeting, or auditing for nonprofits
- Experience serving on finance or audit committees
- Strategic Planning
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to nonprofit strategic planning processes
- Ability to align organizational goals with long-term impact
- Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
- Expertise in program monitoring and evaluation aligned with donor and organizational requirements
- Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and reporting for impact measurement
