Call for submissions: Audacious Leaders Network

73

The Audacious Leaders Network is a femicentric initiative focused on empowering young people and women to promote their inclusion into socio-political leadership spaces, entrepreneurship, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda. Through initiatives focused on upskilling and empowering Basotho youth to transform their communities through leadership advocacy, social entrepreneurship and soft skills building, we hope to build back better and prosperous Lesotho. With the support of the Public Diplomacy programming grant from the United States Embassy in Maseru, Lesotho, the network presents the Bring her to the table initiative.

Bring her to the table initiative

Bring Her to The Table aims to empower and involve girls aged 17-25 in civic and political leadership through online training, webinars, global roundtable discussions, and a mock parliament. This project looks to engage young women at the grassroots level, to help them understand and become active leaders in their communities and empower them by improving their speaking, writing, and communication skills. The training will also encourage press freedom and professional coverage by focusing on countering misinformation.

The goal of the project is to foster intergenerational co-leadership in Lesotho and ensure the participation of women in civic leadership spaces. The objectives of the project are to:

1. Engage young women at the grassroots level to understand and become active leaders in their communities.

2. Mobilize young women to become civic leaders and social activists within the socio-political sphere.

3. Improve the speaking, writing, and communication level of young women
