Call for Proposals Ref No: (83495178) Provide a bankable wind resource assessment for a potential new wind farm in the Mohale’s Hoek district of Lesotho
GIZ South Africa, Lesotho & eSwatini is seeking a qualified contractor to design, execute, and deliver a bankable Wind Resource Assessment (WRA) for a new wind farm in the Mohale’s Hoek district, Lesotho.
The planned wind farm will have an installed capacity of approximately 60 MW, with 12 wind turbines to be located along a mountain ridge about 5 km east of Mohale’s Hoek, oriented northeast to southwest.
To provide a bankable wind resource assessment, the contractor is expected to implement a wind measurement campaign with two met masts conforming to international standards. A minimum of 12 consecutive months of validated high-quality wind and meteorological data will be required.
GET.invest Lesotho, implemented by GIZ — was launched in April 2023 with funding from the European Union in Lesotho and Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It builds on the services of the broader GET.invest programme, and tailors them to the Basotho context. GET.invest Lesotho is part of Renewable Lesotho, a joint initiative to increase Clean Energy generation and energy efficiency in the country.
