LESOTHO RED CROSS SOCIETY
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS), in collaboration with the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC), has launched an Anticipatory Action program aimed at mitigating the effects of cold waves. This initiative targets areas within the Drakensberg, Moteng, Lebelonyane, and Thaba Putsoa passes, which are particularly vulnerable to extreme cold conditions.
The primary goal of this Anticipatory Action is to reduce the adverse impact of cold waves on affected communities. In line with this, the program will provide vital support to herders, vulnerable households, and schoolchildren, who are most at risk during these extreme weather events.
As part of this initiative, LRCS plans to distribute protective clothing to the targeted groups to help shield them from the severe cold. These efforts are designed to alleviate the immediate challenges posed by low temperatures and ensure that vulnerable populations have the necessary resources to stay warm and safe during cold wave events.
Items and Detailed Description:
- Freezer jackets:
- Two toned Freezer Jackets (blue & Red): 100
- Plain blue: 500
- Blue woollen hat:
- Balaclava with eyes and mouth opening: 600
- Gumboots:
- Black and navy blue: 500
- Grey blankets:
- Grey blanket with straps (mathokoa): 600
- Light jacket:
- Two toned jackets (black & Red): 300
Therefore, LRCS invites sealed bids from reputable firms/registered companies located within the country to supply the above items.
Estimated Timetable LRCS seeks to follow:
- Issue of Tender: 22nd April 2025
- Deadline for submission: 1st May 2025 (15:00/3:00pm)
- Tender Opening: 2nd May 2025 (10:00 AM)
- Evaluation of Offers (Estimated): 6th May 2025
- Issue of Contract (Estimated): 8th May 2025
The bidders will have to buy the tender document at the rate of Rand/Maloti 1,500.00, which should be paid before receiving the tender document. The tender document will be sent through email immediately after payment. The tender fee is non-refundable.
The Tender document will contain the Invitation to Tender, instructions to suppliers, specifications, and the terms & conditions. All documents can be requested from the Finance office, Lesotho Red Cross Headquarter Office, from 22/04/2025 to 1/05/2025.
