Conference Details

Venue: Maseru, Kingdom of Lesotho

Dates: 8–11 December 2026

Conference Overview

The 45th AAPAM Roundtable Conference, under the theme “From Ambition to Impact: Reimagining Public Administration for the Realization of Agenda 2063 and the SDGs Towards the Africa We Want,” is a direct and purposeful response to one of the most pressing challenges confronting African governance today—the widening gap between continental aspirations and measurable outcomes.

The conference is designed as a practical, action-oriented, and solution-focused platform where the strategic ambitions of the 44th conference are translated into actionable frameworks, institutional designs, partnership models, and accountability mechanisms.

The 45th Roundtable Conference seeks not merely to refine the diagnosis but to define the remedy—moving from analysis to architecture, from principles to practice, and from ambition to impact.

The conference is underpinned by three key pillars:

  • Fiscal resilience.
  • Innovation.
  • Youth digital agency.

These are presented as mutually reinforcing dimensions necessary for systemic transformation. The six sub-themes are designed to break down this holistic vision into actionable operational components, providing practical pathways for delegates to move from diagnosis to implementation.

AAPAM invites paper submissions from practitioners, scholars, researchers, and other stakeholders.

Conference Sub-Themes

  1. Modernizing African Public Service for Improved Service Delivery.
  2. Strengthening Institutional Integrity and Accountability.
  3. Reimagining Africa’s Education System for Youth Inclusivity and Participation in the Economy and Youth-Led Innovation.
  4. Localizing the SDGs: From Continental Policy to Community Impact.
  5. Financing for Development: Innovative Resource Mobilization.
  6. Restoring the Social Contract: The Role of Government in Restoring Citizen Trust and Confidence.
