DELIVERING VARIOUS CAPACITY-STRENGTHENING TRAININGS AND OTHER ACCOMPANIMENTS TO GRANTEE PARTNERS
Introduction
The African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) envisions a continent where gender justice flourishes for all African women, girls, and gender-diverse people, and where dignity and freedom are a lived reality for everyone.
Building on its impactful history, AWDF’s ten-year strategic framework, LemLem (2023-2033), guides its commitment to advancing gender equality and gender justice. Central to this strategy is resourcing, nurturing, and strengthening those best positioned to drive transformative change—African women’s rights and feminist groups, organizations, and movements.
Context and Activity Description
Aligned with AWDF’s strategic priority of resourcing and accompanying African women’s rights and feminist movements, the Agency and Resilience Unit will implement various capacity-building and strengthening training programs for AWDF grantees.
Recognizing the often bureaucratic nature of grant processes and agreements, this fellowship centers on collaboration, experience sharing, co-leadership, shared learning, care, and mutual accountability in resource mobilization and grant management.
Content Diversity
The content areas for the capacity initiatives are diverse, and it may be challenging to acquire one consultancy team to address all areas. Applicants are encouraged to specify which areas align best with their expertise in their expression of interest.
Language Diversity
Recognizing that meaningful participation requires linguistic access, these trainings will be offered in French, Portuguese, and English, with dedicated cohorts for each language. This approach ensures that participants can fully contribute their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives.
