MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE PEOPLE’S MATRIX
Call for Board Applications
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho nationals to serve on the Board of Directors of the Peoples’ Matrix Association. The People’s Matrix is tasked with advancing human rights in Lesotho, with a particular focus on Sex, Sexual Orientation, GIE. We envisage a country free of all forms or moral prejudice and discrimination and a country where there is justice and freedom for all.
Prospective members of the Board of Directors are required to have competence in communication, teamwork, management/ leadership skills as well as well as some knowledge of the operating environment of The People’s Matrix or of similar organisations. All candidates must have at least five years post qualification experience in their fields of expertise.
The following fields expertise required are:
- Financial management
- Human resource management
- Strategic management
- Legal, governance and compliance management
Prospective board members should have the following qualities:
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, both written and oral;
- computer literate
- strong character, tenacity, and integrity
- Strong collegial networks, preferably international in scope
- Experience in one or more of the following programmatic areas will be an added advantage:
- Training and Educational
Resources
- Media and Global Messaging
- Human Rights, Policy, and Legal Advocacy
- Regional Networking and Outreach on Behalf of The People’s Matrix
- Creating Safer Spaces and Skills for Maintaining Groups/Movement Work.
- Skills in content development for educational materials
- strong political analysis of what it means to be an LGBTIQ+-centered organization, member-led, and intersectional.
