JET and the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) require a Business Process Analyst Consultant for their PSET CLOUD project that seeks to address the development of an integrated national digital ecosystem which is interoperable and can be used for effective skills planning and provisioning.

The Business Process Analyst Consultant will be responsible for process mapping and business process reengineering. The consultant will assist the merSETA in improving business performance through the use of data by identifying, designing, executing, documenting, measuring, monitoring, and controlling automated and non-automated business processes to achieve consistent, targeted results aligned with the merSETA’s strategic objectives. 

The Business Process Analyst Consultant will be contracted to a maximum of 160 hours a month on a consultancy contract for a period of 2-years (renewable based on performance and project funding/requirements).

The Business Process Analyst will be required to:
Develop merSETA specific business process standards based on best practice, open standards, and methodologies
Collect, analyse and interpret data to understand internal merSETA business processes, workflows, information flows, data requirements, and business rules to identify areas of improvement
Facilitate business process workshops to elicit business process requirements
Lead business process design/redesign
Document and presenting new business process designs to business units
Educate business units and users responsible for managing and operating business processes
Work with the Change Management consultant and other role players in managing process change
Work with the Manager: Quality Systems in aligning business processes with the merSETA Quality Management System
Work with other experts in the merSETA digital ecosystem project such as the Data Science consultant and Programme Management consultant in driving the digital transformation agenda within merSETA
Liaise with different stakeholders such as business, IT, and Quality Management Systems in business process design/redesign
Monitor, measure and provide feedback on business process design
The consultant will work within a dedicated project team, all reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at merSETA.   

Desired qualifications and experience
A relevant degree in Engineering, Business Management, IT, Information System or equivalent
5 years’ experience in Business Process Management
Proven experience in process modeling, analysis, and improvement
Knowledge and experience in applying formal business process modeling or business analysis tools and methodologies.
Knowledge of Business Process Re-engineering, process management, and Workflow management
An understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 standard
Knowledge of the Business Process Management Common Body of Knowledge (BPM CBOK)®
Knowledge of Business Process Management standards
Experience in working in complex IT and related projects in SETAs and the public sector
Knowledge of the SETA environment and relevant legislation
